Prompt Engineering: Multimodal Output Escalation via ASD-STE100

Prompt Engineering: Specialized Technical Instruction & Multi-format Artifact Generation

Framework Overview

  • Core Technique: Controlled Language (ASD-STE100 style) with format escalation (Text -> ASCII/HTML -> Video).
  • Target LLMs: Optimized for Claude; compatible with advanced reasoning models capable of coding or generating complex structures.
  • Primary Use Case: Explaining complex topics through highly readable, unambiguous instructions that can escalate to interactive web interfaces or educational videos.

The Prompt Template

Execution Workflow & Rules

  1. Identify the complexity of the topic to be explained (code, plan, or error).
  2. Apply technical language constraints: use active voice and maintain a strict word count per sentence/description.
  3. Ensure terminological consistency by defining any term once and reusing it without variation throughout the response.
  4. If requested via prompt trigger "explain in HTML", transition from text output to generating an interactive single-file web interface.
  5. For structural explanations involving 3+ parts, implement an ASCII diagram before providing details.
  6. Escalate medium if necessary: move from simple text to diagrams -> interactive HTML pages -> instructional video content with animation logic.

Behavioral Tuning & Constraints

  • Complexity Control: Aim for approximately 80% adherence to ASD-STE100 rules; avoid making instructions too dry while maintaining clarity.
  • Length Constraint [Instruction]: Maximum 20 words per instruction sentence.
  • Length Constraint [Description]: Maximum 25 words per description sentence.
  • Structural Integrity: Limit paragraphs discussing one theme enough that they do not exceed six sentences.
  • Linguistic Consistency: Always respond in the user's inputted language using shorted specialized structures even when translating or explaining technical terms.

Bottom Line:
This method shifts AI usage from passive chat responses toward active creation of high-clarity documentation and disposable digital artifacts designed specifically for rapid comprehension.
